La Moitie Multi Commercial Space

This interior space presents a dramatic composition divided vertically into two contrasting aesthetic realms, which will be described scanning from left to right. The left portion occupies approximately half the frame and is bathed in warm, rosy light suggesting the soft glow of late afternoon sun filtering through sheer curtains. The dominant colors here are dusty pink, reminiscent of dried rose petals, and soft coral like sun-warmed terracotta, with accents of warm gold like honey and pale teal like oxidized copper. Several ornate columns rise from stepped platforms, their surfaces smooth as polished plaster, topped with elaborately carved capitals featuring leaf-like flourishes. Multiple crystal chandeliers hang at varying heights, their faceted glass elements catching light and creating sparkling prismatic effects like scattered diamonds. The floor appears smooth and cool like polished stone with small flecks of rose and cream aggregate creating gentle visual texture. An ornate mirror with elaborate golden framing reflects the luminous space, while carved wooden furniture with plush cushioning in muted teal suggests the softness of worn velvet. Moving rightward, the composition transitions dramatically at a central cylindrical column that rises floor to ceiling, its surface divided between the warm decorative treatment on its left face and cool grey stone on its right. The right portion presents stacked horizontal stone slabs in cool grey-blue tones like river-smoothed slate or weathered granite, their surfaces showing natural veining and texture like rough-hewn cliff faces. A large smooth sphere, approximately waist-height, rests on the floor at the division point, its surface pale and luminous like moonlit alabaster. The name of the project La Moitie originates from the French translation of half , and the design aptly reflects this by the balance that has been struck between opposing elements: square and circle, light and dark. Given the limited space, the team sought to establish both a connection and a division between the two separate retail areas through the application of two opposing colors. While the boundary between the pink and black spaces is clear yet also blurred at different perspectives.
