Tuya Restaurant

The overall format is square, and the composition creates a powerful sense of depth drawing the eye forward through the space. Beginning overhead, an elaborate chandelier installation dominates the upper portion, composed of hundreds of vertical glass tubes arranged in wing-like formations that angle downward from the ceiling, creating the impression of crystalline cascades or frozen waterfalls, their surfaces catching and diffusing light to create a cool, luminous glow like morning frost. The ceiling itself appears dark charcoal gray, providing dramatic contrast to the illuminated glass elements. Moving to the middle register, rich wood paneling lines both walls in warm mahogany tones suggesting polished chocolate or aged cherry wood, featuring fine vertical ribbing that creates subtle textural striations. Brass wall sconces punctuate the wood surfaces, casting small pools of warm amber light. The seating arrangement consists of curved banquette booths upholstered in deep teal velvet with the saturated richness of ocean depths, flanked by individual chairs covered in warm ochre-gold fabric resembling aged honey or soft caramel, supported by slender brass legs. Tables are set with crystal glassware, white plates, and small yellow bottles suggesting olive oil. The floor presents a bold checkerboard pattern alternating between creamy white terrazzo squares warm as vanilla and deep navy blue squares cool as midnight, this geometric rhythm grounding the composition while echoing the angular patterns above. At the distant center, traditional cream-colored table lamps provide intimate focal points, their warm glow suggesting welcoming comfort at the journey's end.

Integrating typical Austrian architecture, Tuya creates an informal atmosphere which spreads over two floors. The Art Deco and Postmodern character of the building was kept by preserving essential elements, such as marble flooring and the circular stair. Custom made objects enhances the initial space and brings the project a French Riviera vibe.
