Termalija Family Wellness Swimming Pools

Scanning this architectural interior photograph from background to foreground, the composition reveals a remarkable wellness pool facility characterized by an extraordinary angular wooden ceiling structure. Beginning at the far right background, a large glass curtain wall rises from floor to ceiling, its gridded mullion pattern allowing soft daylight to flood the space, and through this glazing one can glimpse indistinct exterior buildings and perhaps one or two human silhouettes. Moving leftward across the middle ground, a vertical living wall of dense greenery covers a substantial portion of the back wall, its surface carpeted in small-leafed plants creating a lush texture like soft moss or dense hedgerow. At center, rising from the pool deck, stands a sculptural support column wrapped in the same angular wooden panels as the ceiling, its form twisting upward like a tree trunk or geological formation, with a visible staircase passing through its mass. The ceiling dominates the upper two-thirds of the image, composed of countless triangular and polygonal wooden panels in warm honey and straw tones, folded and faceted like origami or crystal formations, creating dramatic three-dimensional depth. Scattered across this undulating wooden surface, approximately twelve dark triangular openings house warm-toned recessed lights that cast golden illumination across the angular planes. The pool itself occupies the lower third of the composition, its water a cool aquamarine reminiscent of tropical seas or glacial meltwater, smooth as glass and reflecting fragments of the geometric ceiling above. White curved pool edges and platforms emerge from the turquoise water like organic islands. Termalija Family Wellness is the latest in the series of projects which Enota has built at Terme Olimia in the last fifteen years and concludes the complete transformation of the spa complex. Viewed from a distance, the shape, color and scale of new clustered structure of tetrahedral volumes is a continuation of the cluster of the surrounding rural buildings, visually extending into the heart of the complex. The new roof acts as a big summer shade and doesn't usurp any of the precious exterior space.
